چکیده
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is a double-stranded DNA virus in the Herpesviridae family. The most prevalent humans Human Type 1 (HSV-1). It can reach brain without causing symptoms [1]. Currently, antiviral drug used Acyclovir (ACV); nucleotide analogues target polymerase inhibiting viral replication. However, ACV drug-resistant occurs, especially immunocompromised patients [2]. Therefore, alternate therapy for with established resistance was required. Plant extract commonly as agent. Kyllinga nemoralis known White Spike Head had antiviral, antibacterial, antibleeding and anti-poisoning properties [3]. contains sources such highest flavonoid flavonol concentrations [4].

objective of this experimental study to investigate potential K. methanolic agent against HSV-1. root plant extract, Vero Cells HSV-1 were study. Cytotoxic Concentration (CC50) activity by using post-treatment, pre-treatment virucidal assay performed study.
Results showed that percentage cell population versus concentration (figure 1). CC50 determined at 0.91 mg/mL. This considered not toxic cells more than 4 µg/mL [5].
results indicate effective protecting cells. In pre-treatment, SI value 8.27. finding shows moderate ability bind inhibited binding surface test, towards 8.125. data suggests moderately inactivates extracellular component HSV-1.
conclusion, findings show non-toxic has be an
